These five healthy snacks are not only healthy and easy to make, they are also tasty. So you don’t have to worry whether or not your kids will love it because trust me, they will.

Baked Sweet Potato Fries

What you need:

  1. 3 large (2 lbs) sweet potatoes, sliced
  2. 3 tbps olive or vegetable oil
  3. Salt and pepper
  4. Non-stick spray
  5. Mixing bowl
  6. Baking sheet

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ready to serve in: 35 minutes

Step 1: Set the rack in the upper third and preheat to 425°F. To know more about rack positions, check out this article.

Step 2: Apply non-stick spray to the baking sheet.

Step 3: Put the sweet potatoes into the large bowl. Add salt and pepper. Toss.

Step 4: Arrange the sweet potatoes on the baking sheet, make sure there’s space between each one.

Step 5: Turn it occasionally to avoid burning. Cook until golden brown or around 20 minutes.

Step 6: Cool before serving.

Servings: 6

Banana Oat Cookies

What you need:

  1. 2-3 ripe bananas
  2. 1 cup oats, porridge or rolled
  3. 1 tbsp crumbled walnuts
  4. Bowl to mix ingredients
  5. Baking paper or non-stick spray
  6. Baking sheet

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ready to serve in: 30 minutes

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 360°F.

Step 2: Mash the bananas into the bowl.

Step 3: Add oats and walnuts. Mix well.

Step 4: Place baking paper on the tray or apply non-stick spray.

Step 5: Use a spoon to scoop the mixture and put it carefully on the tray.

Step 6: Bake for more or less 18 minutes.

Step 7: Serve.

Servings: 10-12

Baked Zucchini Chips

What you need:

  1. 3 zucchini, sliced into thin pieces
  2. Salt
  3. Olive oil
  4. Mixing bowl
  5. Baking sheet

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ready to serve in: 32 minutes

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F.

Step 2: Drizzle sliced zucchini with olive oil in the bowl.

Step 3: Put salt. Toss lightly.

Step 4: Arrange zucchini on the baking sheet.

Step 5: Bake. Turn occasionally. Check after 18 minutes if light brown already. If not, bake for another 2 minutes.

Step 6: Serve.

Servings: 10-12

Cinnamon Apple Chips

What you need:

  1. 3 apples, core taken and sliced thinly
  2. 2 tsp sugar (or less if you prefer)
  3. ½ tsp cinnamon
  4. Small mixing bowl
  5. Non-stick spray
  6. Baking sheet

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Ready to serve in: 1 hr

Step 1: Preheat oven to 225°F.

Step 2: Mix cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.

Step 3: Apply non-stick spray to the baking sheet. Arrange the apple slices on it.

Step 4: Sprinkle it with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Step 5: Bake for 45 minutes or until the apples curl and dry up.

Step 6: Let it cool and serve.

Servings: 6-8

Broccoli Cheese bites

What you need:

  1. 500 g broccoli, cooked
  2. 1 cup bread crumbs
  3. 3 eggs
  4. 1 cup cheese, shredded
  5. Salt and pepper
  6. Mixing bowl
  7. Baking sheet

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ready to serve in: less than 40 minutes

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F.

Step 2: Chop broccoli into tiny pieces. Put in the bowl.

Step 3: Throw in the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Form small patties on the baking sheet. Make sure there’s enough distance between each of the patty. And take note that the smaller it is, the crispier it’d come out.

Step 5: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or more if you made large patties.

Step 6: Let it cool and serve.
