Despite miscarriage still being a topic that a lot of women don’t openly discuss, Gabrielle is not the only celebrity that has opened up to the public about her struggles with infertility and pregnancy loss.
9/7/17 Forever Young With much sadness, we open our hearts to share that J and I lost our second child, who was baking in the oven. Child was very very much wanted (right now especially by J, so he took the news particularly not so well) and we are still working with coping skills over here… when life throws us curve balls such as these. Depression is a real concern from past abuse as well as alcoholism which he was born with. He has been able to turn any ugliness and hurt in his life into art and is the strongest person I know. I do not know anyone who has been through what he has been through and reached his level of successes. It does seem though that every time we seem to be making so much progress… sometimes it’s like two steps forward, one step back. Thank you family and friends and all of you lovely kind beautiful people who send us good energy and thoughts and support. It is so appreciated. I have so much love for you. To some others, my husband is an Irishman who battles alcoholism and depression and drank between jobs to try to cope with the sadness of this news. I am trying to and still learning/adjusting to living with the public, like one would as a concerned mother-in-law. I feel that whomever took photos of my husband was slightly in the wrong and was concerned for the wrong reasons but … it’s ok. It’s ok. Maybe you have/had a family to feed and need/needed money? I don’t know. We forgive you. He is safe and with his sober living companion and bodyguard to get into a detox closer to home since he was denied hospital help twice in Ireland because of an already two month wait period. Life is life. Life is beautiful. Life is tough sometimes though so let’s try not looking down at someone unless we intend on helping them up. Sending love to those in… Texas, Florida, India and Mexico with all the natural disasters going on. We are both so sensitive and the past couple of weeks have been so ouch in our hearts for all humans and animals affected. With Love, M&J

In 2013 Beyoncé did a documentary on HBO titled Life Is But A Dream. In the documentary Beyoncé, then already a new mom to 13-month old Blue Ivy, spoke about the miscarriage that she had two years before that. After she found out about the miscarriage Beyoncé channeled her pain into her new album and wrote the song “Heartbeat.” After Blue’s birth, Jay-Z released a song called “Glory” where he references the miscarriage as well and again on his newly released song “4:44.” In that song he mentioned feeling responsible for the miscarriages that Beyoncé suffered because he wasn’t there for her and implied that the one before Blue was conceived was not the only loss they experienced.

Lindsay Lohan has suffered a lot of personal ups and downs over the last several years. In 2014 she did a docu-series for the OWN network. In the finale of the series, “Lindsay”, she shared that while she was filming the show she took two weeks off because she had a miscarriage. She referenced an episode that the viewers were told Lindsay didn’t want to come down to film, but the true story was she was actually in the throes of dealing with the loss.
The man behind Facebook and his wife Dr. Priscilla Chan announced that they were pregnant, on Facebook of course, with their first child. In the Facebook announcement, Mark shared that the couple was extremely excited and hopeful. But he also revealed that the couple had been trying to get pregnant for several years and during the process had suffered three miscarriages. It was an important moment for the Dad-to-be because the loss of a pregnancy is often suffered alone and often men don’t speak up about it.

Giuliana has gone through a lot of medical issues over the last several years. In 2010 Giuliana and her husband Bill were excited to find out they were pregnant after just one round of IVF. But just nine weeks after announcing the pregnancy on their E! reality show the couple found out that they had miscarried. During the process of trying to get pregnant, Giuliana found out she had breast cancer. The couple eventually decided to use a surrogate to conceive their son Duke who was born in 2012. In 2014 the couple used two embryos and implanted them into the same surrogate who carried their son, but sadly she miscarried. Again, in 2015 the couple used their last embryo but the surrogate miscarried again.
